Roof insulation
Heat rises, and a poorly insulated roof is where a lot of it leaves the house. When a roof is being stripped and relaid is the easiest time there is to insulate the slope properly.
What's involved
- Insulation boards fitted between the rafters
- Loft insulation laid between and over the joists
- Insulating the slope as part of a re-roof
- Keeping the roof space ventilated so it stays dry
When to ring
- Frost melting off your roof before it goes off the neighbours'
- Thin or patchy insulation in the loft
- A re-roof or loft conversion coming up
