A folder, a backup and a printer.
Three things that need a path on a disk — which is exactly what a browser will not give software, and the reason the desktop app exists at all.
A drop box on the machine
Pick a folder. What appears in it reaches your account, and the file is moved into a sub-folder so you can see what has been handled.
It is off until you choose a folder. Software that starts uploading files it found on somebody's disk without being asked is not a feature. Nothing happens until a person picks a path and turns it on.
The setting lives on the machine. C:\Users\sam\Quooro Inbox means nothing on the laptop at home, so signing in elsewhere does not inherit a path that is not there.
Your own copy, on your own disk
An encrypted archive written to a folder you choose, on a schedule you set. It is yours: the passphrase is yours, and Quooro cannot open it.
- Every archive carries a manifest recording how many rows came out of each table, so a thin backup is visible rather than assumed.
- Anything it could not read is listed in that manifest by name and reason. Nothing is dropped quietly.
- Lose the passphrase and the archive is gone. That is what it means for the studio not to hold it.

Receipts, without a dialog
A takeaway order arriving at 19:40 on a Friday has to come out of the roll on its own, with nobody clicking anything and possibly with the app minimised.
The app lists the printers Windows knows about, so a venue picks one from a list rather than typing a name that has to match exactly. The receipt goes straight to it as ESC/POS bytes — no print dialog, no window stealing focus from the counter.
Whether raw bytes reach the print head depends on how the printer was installed, and that cannot be detected from software. So there is a test print on the settings screen, and every attempt reports what actually happened rather than assuming.
More about Quooro Desktop
None of this runs until you point it at something. A folder, a backup location, a printer — each is off until it is chosen, and each is remembered on that machine only.
